Muñoz was born and raised in San Antonio, traveled to the People's Republic of China with the International Group of Up With People in 1985, graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1988 and worked for Sosa, Bromley Aguilar and Associates prior to starting her agency.
In 1991 Muñoz capitalized on her adventurous entrepreneurial spirit by launching Muñoz Public Relations and is now celebrating 15 years in business. She's built a strong, creative and talented team of nearly a dozen staff members who are passionate about helping clients grow their business.

Muñoz is a savvy team builder, newsmaker, event planner and community advocate whose experience and community involvement captured the attention of Ford Motor Company in 1992. MPR is Ford Motor Company's public relations firm in South Texas.

Muñoz is passionate about mariachi music having played the guitar and violin in churches and schools as a young student. She combined her passion for mariachi music, with her experience in producing concerts and working in the advertising industry, to produce shows featuring the world renowned Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan. She produces concerts in San Antonio, Houston, Austin, McAllen and Atlanta, Georgia which have won awards and gained national recognition as being among the best of its kind. She has created opportunities for award winning student mariachi musicians to travel to St. Paul, Minnesota, Atlanta, Georgia and Quad City, Illinois.

Muñoz enjoys traveling to La Joya, California, reading her Opra Winfrey Magazine and listening to Andre Bocelli. One of her favorite books is Isabel Allende's Daughter of Fortune which is about love, family, tradition and multiculturalism during the gold rush.
